Dr. Shalom Saada Saar

Dr. Shalom Saada Saar believes that everyone has the capacity to lead and a growth mindset is not predetermined. Every potential can be nurtured and developed. He has dedicated his career to helping others identify and cultivate their unique leadership talents. Believing deeply that you can’t lead others until you know how to lead yourself. Throughout his career as an academic administrator, VP for executive development and consultant to governmental agencies and corporations, Dr. Saar has dedicated himself to providing coaching and counseling to individuals and teams around the world. Dr. Saar has brought his unique perspective on leadership to audiences around the globe. Participants consistently remark that they are inspired by his insights and common-sense approach to leading oneself and leading others. Dr. Saar has taught at: Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance; Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing; China European International Business School; Harvard University; MIT; Luiss University in Rome and Southern Methodist University. His concepts of leading in challenging times were presented in his book Leading with Conviction published by Jose-Bass. Dr. Saar received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Psychology from Swarthmore College and Master and Doctoral degrees in Organizational Behavior and Administration from Harvard University. Dr. Saar serves as a keynote speaker focusing on leading change and the power of teams in mobilizing people and resources.

Dr. Michael Hargrove

Dr. Michael Hargrove is passionate about helping leaders increase their operational effectiveness and strategic focus. He knows that effective thinking is a critical success factor of effective leadership. Using his keen insight and analytical perspective, Mike teaches leaders how to think differently, see opportunities that others miss, and act decisively to create exceptional value for the firm.

Mike understands how large scale, complex organizations work. He knows from experience the planning and execution required to succeed. Prior to joining CLD more than 20 years ago, Mike worked as a United States military hospital leader in Europe, a consultant to the Ministry of Planning in Saudi Arabia, an advisor with the Bechtel Corporation and at Boston University. During a four year interval in his time with CLD, he joined a client organization and served as its Chief Operating Officer. His leadership created dramatic international growth, while improving the profitability of the firm.

Dr. Hargrove enjoys working with leadership teams and emerging leaders both within organizations and in academia.He has taught at Harvard, Southern Methodist University and Loyola College.

Dr. Hargrove received his doctoral degree in Organizational Behavior and Development from Harvard University.

Ping He served as the Global General Manager for Asia Pacific Region for Maritz Global Events. In this role, Ping orchestrated global service strategy, and guided its expansion to Asia Pacific. She provided cultural insights and service solutions to numerous tourism bureaus, companies and government agencies. Together with her team, Ping led global efforts, offering a wide range of service solutions focusing on delivering high quality conferences and meetings world-wide. Throughout her career, Ping built solid relationships and collaborations across the industry and the world. For more than 25 years, Ping has worked closely with global organizations on the design, planning and delivery of learning experiences.

Ping’s extensive experience and expertise in working with global companies stem from a fundamental belief that through integrity, creative solutions and strategic partnership, organizations can greatly benefit from impactful meetings aimed to enhance the quality of leadership, collaboration and teamwork.

Ping is a native of Shanghai, China. She has been instrumental in revitalizing tourism in APAC countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and Australia. In 2012, she was the inaugural recipient of Global Meetings Executive of the Year Award by PCMA and IMEX. In addition, in 2016, she was named one of the top 25 women in meetings industry in the world by Meetings & Conventions Magazine.

Ping has a master’s degree in Tourism Administration and a BA in English literature.

Dr. Alex Parnia has provided consulting services for more than 25 years to companies and college presidents and boards of directors to drive strategic plans and implementations. He has also been instrumental in the development and implementation of organization-wide assessment plans, including a new focus on learning outcomes, forming collaborations, working with community-based organizations, and outsourcing services.

The innovative and scalable solutions and matrices he has crafted have resulted in exponential increases in revenue streams for a number of institutions. Under his guidance as a driving force, organizations have been able to utilize their strategic plans to diversify and expand nationally and internationally.

Dr. Parnia has provided leadership and management development programs to BASF, CIGNA, Charrette Corporation, and Kuehne-Nagel among many other organizations. His articles have been published in the New York Times, The Republican, and Hartford Courant.

He began his management career on the faculty at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business in 1984, where he worked closely with Dr. Shalom Saar to establish the new Executive MBA program. Subsequently moving on to Cambridge College, as the executive vice president he focused on branding and driving the school from a $2M operating budget to $50M. This college has an outstanding track record serving adult learners, and a growing national reputation. He also served as the dean of the School of Management there. Later, he served as the provost and executive vice president at Nichols College.

Dr. Parnia has taught management and international business courses at the University of Harford, Quinnipiac College, University of New Haven, Sacred Heart University, Cambridge College, Harvard Extension School, and Nichols College. He is a graduate of Claremont Graduate University, where he studied under Peter F. Drucker and received his Doctorate in International Business and Management.

Cibeles Duran joined CLD as an expert in marketing and communication skills. Throughout her work with business and public organizations, Cibeles has provided executives with personal coaching on strategies aimed at enhancing their ability to communicate with others. Through her subtle and supportive styles, Cibeles has improved the writing quality of many of our clients. Her drive for a concise and clear message that inspires the reader has been one of her best attributes. Furthermore, her experience in developing printed and digital brochures, press releases, publishing periodic newsletters, connecting senior leaders with their global teams, and clarifying the executive message for both external and internal stakeholders have placed her in high demand. Assisting organizations in improving their marketing capability by understanding customers; needs and employee; expectations have resulted in a closer connection between the C-Suite Team and all stakeholders. In addition, Cibeles has assisted various scholars and executives in writing their own stories. Cibeles received her Bachelor in English Literature from the University of Miami and an MBA from Florida International University.
